World Time Attack 2013

Sorry for the lack of posts, it has been a crazy time for me. The last few months has seen a lot of changes in my life including the birth of our daughter Zalia. The lead up to WTAC was long and hard, we were doing 180 hours a week between three of us to get the Porsche done in time. We also managed to knock up a trailer specifically to cart the Porsche around so we don't need to remove bodywork each time we load it on. First test day surprised everyone, including us. The car had amazing pace straight of the trailer and the only spanners we put on the car all day was to repair a small accelerator cable problem. The next time out saw over a second a lap gains from some small changes to the car, we were now lapping quicker than a V8 Supercar and we were only using medium compound R Spec tyres. Then it was WTAC time. We started the event with promise, but not for long. We did a few 1.34 laps at SMSP before we started having fuelling issues. We have been on a steep learning curve with Sucrogen E85. Its gums injectors up overnight…we know now. Fuelling issues sorted by session one it was time to have a crack. We fitted brand new soft compound tyres for our first session, only to meet with someones diff oil spread from turn 2 to 6. I managed a 1.35:03 driving around the outside of it. Session two was ruined by a slower car when we were on our flying lap. session three….the turbo went….and that was that. A mixed emotion result. There is lots more left in the car and we have now converted to a different brand turbo and the car feels even better, we took it to a Porsche day recently and got fastest time of the day against some pretty stiff competition. Bring on World Time Attack 2014!!
